Welcome, my name is Sheila Jorstad.  My life and studio is located in Tacoma, Washington.  I've had a love for art ever since I was a young girl. Drawing, painting or some other artsy thing was a constant activity for me.  When my second grade teacher praised my full body self portrait, I know at that young age, art would be a signaificant part of my life.

Years of events unrelated to art; corporate career, marriage and the birth of my daughter kept me very busy.  This season of my life was rich and fulfilling but didn't carry much opportunity for art.  The seed planted all those years ago was waiting to sprout and finally broke ground in the winter of 1999. I signed up for a beginner's watercolor class at our local college.  The journey had begun.

I love to paint and share my art with others.  My paintings are various genres you would find in nature; flora, landscape and animal paintings to name a few.  I frequently paint with watercolors however, I also paint with acrylic and oils which I plan to use them more in the near future.
